I visited Mme Shawn a few days ago for a ladies night. I ordered sea bass that was steamed in banana leaves. It was light and spicy. Not life changing, but good all the same! Everyone else in my party seemed happy with their choices as well. There was your usual curry and noodle fare, and everything looked great. Can't complain, but also can't say that I would go out of my way for a revisit.
P.S. had to pay an additional few euros for a bowl of rice. -

Food was amazing and soulful. Service was warm and welcoming - they don't bother you constantly after sitting down. Not sure why the rating is so low. Interior is calm and comfortable

Awfull welcoming ! I m alone on a table outside and wait for someone to take my order. Finally the girl cames and said : You're alone ?! - Yes miss - And the girl continued you have to know that they re no menu today ! - I reply that I don't care and I never asked for it... She tried by all the way to make me understand to keep a table for 2 ... awfull and my pork with garlic was boring !!!!

We stumbled on this place a couple of nights ago and were thrilled we did. I mean, we love baguettes and cheese as much as the next person but sometimes you just need a little bit of rice instead, you know?
Anyway, carb-counting aside, this place was exactly what we needed.
The Food: Tom Yam was delicious - my absolute favorite thing at Mme Shawn. My husband had a chicken dish (sorry don't know the exact name) and seemed to enjoy it. My daughter had the pad thai and loved it. We also shared two orders of fried rice and it was delicious.
The Service: Not very good, thus why there are only 4 stars. Our server was impatient and rushed us through the ordering process. Not unusual for Paris I suppose but still a bit troubling any way.
The Ambiance: This place is hopping and noisy but not overwhelmingly so. I suggest arriving at 8 pm or before to avoid a wait.
The Prices: Never though I'd pay 9.50 Euros for a bowl of soup...this place is expensive! But isn't everything in Paris expensive?
Bottom Line: I highly recommend this restaurant and would return. -

Quite easily the worst pad thai I have had, including versions in more than 10 countries. The noodles were not fully cooked (nothing like hard rice noodles) and the sauce was not tasty at all. This is a place, like the majority of reviews state, to be avoided.
